I have a 1994 Aerostar XLT. Upontil know I have had the original Ford stereo in my car.

When I bought the new stereo to the car I learned that some Aerostars have a amplifier build in from the factory. I did not find a amplifier in the front as I installed the stereo so if I have one it would be sitting some where else. Someone said that if you have controls for the stereo in the back seat you have a amplifier some where in the car. I do have these controls.
Does anyone now where the amplifier is located?

Also on the back seat controls there is a button where you can turn the back speakers on or off, That button works for the back door speakers but not for the mid speakers, the mid speakers are totally dead.
The search radio station button don't work neither does the volym control.
So before I take the hole car apart I like some input on what I should be looking for. If there is no amplifier there needs to be something else that connects the backcontrols with the stereo or speakers rear controls and stereo. What could that be, and where would I find this.

I hope my questions are not to confusing, since I don't now what Iam dealling with here it's kind of hard to try to explaine.

Your dah is made up of a lower half and an upper half. The lower is made of metal and separates from the upper just above the ashtray. On my '90 the amp is attached to the lower dash just to the right of the steering wheel (sitting in the drivers seat looking at the dash).
