Has anyone tried or heard about the Volant air intakes for the 04's? I saw an ad in a magazine, and was wondering if anyone has any experience with their system.
I have the Volant intake installed on my 4.6L SCAB 4x2. I have had it for about a month or so and love it.
It fits like a glove, purrs like a kitten and looks cool. Plus I like the design of the enclosed box for the filter. I think it is a better application to combat dirt and dust from getting in filter. Just my 2 cents though.
Bottom line, I would recommend the Volant. No fitting issues, no check engine lights......I love it.
On their website they have an accessory snorkel kit for the intake system that attaches to the bottom of the filter enclosure and runs a tube down to somewhere in front grille area. I wonder if it would cause a problem running it in the snow or through water. Seems like the setup you have without the snorkel is the way to go.
will cold air really help the exhaust tone out??? I already have a Flowmaster muffler, but wouldn't mind it being a little louder. Also, what about the Airaid Throttle Body Spacer? Will that mate fine to the Volant Cold Air Intake? I found the Hyperformanceauto retail shop right here in Arlington, so I'll probably go and talk to them in the morning. Also, did anyone have any mpg gain with the kit? Just curious.
I just bought the Volant Intake from the guys at Hyperformanceauto today...bought it from the store direct, not over the internet. It installed really easy, the hardest part was removing the stock intake. Can't wait to see any gains that I might get.
