Brake dust?

Is there something that Ford is doing to improve the brake dust situation? 2 days after I wash my truck, the front brakes are covered in nasty brake dust again.

Dealer replaced my brake pads at 2700 miles, new pads are great. the dust levels are what I would say are normal. I wash my 04 Expe once a month and now the dust is a non issue.

Forgive me if this is a dumb question - but if you install the clean wheels product, where does that dust go? Does it continue to build up behind it? That doesnt sound too healthy.

installing the kleen wheel product has a downside.... The brake rotors do not properly vent and run much hotter and are a lot more susceptible to warpage. Bet Kleen Wheel did not tell you that on the website did they?

sounds like an interesting product, but I think I will steer clear for now..... it just doesnt sound too healthy to me.

For now, I will keep a rag handy.......

some dealers will claim that Cleen Wheels void the warranty for brake parts. But the parts dept of my Ford dealer had them for sale right next to the cash register.... maybe they only recommend them for cars out of warranty so that they can increase the number of brake jobs brought into the service dept and thus sell more brake parts for the service dept...
