The picture of the chassis in the 2004 F150 Ford Brochure shows a
one piece drive shaft. My Super Cab has a two piece drive shaft and
I also have the vibrations. Does anyone have the one piece
drive shaft and if so, do you have a vibration problem?
My SC has a 6.5 foot box and was made March 15, 2004 and has a two
piece drive shaft. PC Poppy's SC with a 6.5 box and has a one piece
drive shaft. Is Ford still putting both one piece and two piece drive shaft in
the F150 or at some date, they changed over to the two piece. I do know
that in the 53 years that I have owned both cars and trucks, I have
had vibrations problems with most of the ones that had the two piece
drive shaft.
With as many owners complaining about vibrations, I would have though
that this thread would have generated more replies. I suppose I should have
put "vibrations" in the subject. For those that do not know what a two piece
drive shaft is, it has three universal joints and a center support.
Where as the one piece has only two universal joint and no center support.
We all are look for a common reason why some truck have the vibration
problem and some do not. Two piece drive shafts could be that reason

No. To be honest I think that this issue has caused enough frustration that people are tired of talking about it. This by far is the most discussed matter at this site.
Good evening yall. I am new here so if yall will bear with me I would very much thank ya. I have an 04 F150. It is a regular cab with the 8' bed. I have a two piece shaft with 4 universals. Of course the carrage bearing in the middle. My vibration is noticed when starting out in first or when hauling a load. I took "Tiny" to mthe doctor and thay said that the two piece shaft was the coulprit. it ant bad now but with 100000 mile worrenty I guess that thay know what thay are doing.
