Stalling from drive to park?

I have an 87 F150 / 302 - 94000 km ; and am experiencing a recurring problem of the engine stalling when I pull into my drive way and put it in park. It drives fine and does not seem to have a problem when operating in drive (Though it did stall once when I came to a stop sign on a hill). Its not stalling when I put power down, more so when I take it away. Basically when I put it in park the RPMs drop so fast it just stalls.<O</O
I thought initially it was because I had my EEC unplugged from the battery for an hour or so and the computer had to relearn (because the problem seemed to start after I removed the battery to install power locks), this idea came from something I read in the forums, but I have had the truck out driving for quite a few days since then and the problem is still there.
I have also had some problems with a noisy smog air pump / which I just replaced with one from the wreakers, no change in this problem though.
Anyone have any ideas?<O</O

After spending a couple hours in the forum I found one guy that a similar problem and had someone post an answer that sounded like it might work in my case. Basically he said that if the battery has been unplugged for a long period of time the computers memory resets and thus it needs to re-learn. I followed the steps of warming up the engine, shutting it off, disconnecting the battery for 10 min - and then reconnecting the battery and idling the truck in park, reverse, neutral and drive for 2 minutes each. This worked like a charm! I think my problem before was that I didn't have the truck warm when the computer was relearning - it runs 100% better now!
