Yeah, I can't hear the grinding noise when my wife is with me because she is talking too much. Honestly, I think it is the boost and the turbo winding down on my truck. I have had her shut it off with me on the outside of the truck and you can hear it in the exhaust and the intake area really well. Unless there is a different noise everyone is hearing I would almost bet that is what I am hearing on my truck.

jasfaa: The way I read their descrption of the noise it seems different than what you are describing. To me anyway.

I still think it has to do with fuel pressures ... at the pump or at the tank. Fuel foaming could cause this?

Maybe, just maybe, their diesel truck has gas...so to speak.
