Hi I don't know If this Is In the right place or not, but I bought a brake controller and don't know If I found the wires or not but there was like 7 of them, my schematics show on the brake controll wires that there are pink, red, white, blue(OE harness new ford pink wire) then on the other side It says (OE harness ford) red , white, dark blue, and brown but on the truck there is red white blue and black which out of the seven wires I think are the ones cause the other ones have plastic over the ends, but the colors are not right with the schematics any help would be great thanks
The OE harness is in the glove box on new super duty pickups. You splice the brake controller wire harness with the OE harness and then plug it in under the dash. I do not know what year your truck is but I am going to assume that it is newer than 2000. The OE harness from ford on my truck had one extra wire that you have to figure out which one and this one won't be used. The instructions on what wires on the OE harness are used for can be found in the owners manual. This includes the Ground, electric brake, battery and stop lamp switch.
Exactly as jasfaa has stated, in my '03 F-250 the wire harness was in the glove box or behind the crew seat, I forget which. The instructions with my Tekonsha Prodigy controller specifed exactly the right color wires for the '03 Ford.
Connect the wires in the harness to the brake controller wires, preferably by soldering them, and then plug the connector into the jack under the dash.
If your are still having problems tomorrow, post a reply and I'll look under my dash and see which wires went where.
