No problems ahead, plenty of trucks came from the factory like that The best bet would be to find another 65 with a 4-speed that the current owner would be willing to part with. You will also need the clutch/brake peddle assembly, floor board hump and associated linkage from said truck. I must of course ask, why? The 4-speed in these old trucks was what I like to compare to a work item. Mine really doesn't need the first gear unless I need to pull something, like A HOUSE...
First of all, thanks for the info. I have just started on this truck and really dont know exactly what I want. The 352 in it is in really ood shape. The interior needs only a little work. the outside is a little rough from the Texas sun. The auto trans is in bad shape. I am checking out my options.
Don't know why you want to go to all of the trouble to install everything needed, automatics are very reliable. It is much less work to go to auto than to manual.
