Lunging forward while slowing down

Lunging forward while slowing down
While slowing down, it feels like my tranny downshifts and in the process, the truck lunges forward.
I drive an automatic 2wd 87 F250. What should I look into?
BTW, I posted it here because I'm not sure whether this is a model specific issue or not.

Hey MuscleMachine,
If you give me your Vin I can run a check with Ford and they will give me all of the info for your vehical. I can then relay that back to you.
If I remember correctly you are probably running the E4OD tranny, in which this is normal while you have the O/D off

i remember when my carb was acting up it sure felt like my truck was lunging forward(felt kinda like downshifting)
