Bad News :(
about 14 inches of crack all together the piece was just barely hanging on, I got that out and figured I'm not going to waste my time trying to find a used unit thats gonna cost me 2-3 grand so I took it to a local welding shop, their gonna weld it up and I believe it will hold, then I took the pressure plate and disk out and they dont look that bad but the dual mass flywheel was totaled bad, seems the bolt circle on the flywheel where it bolts onto the crankshaft flange runs on a type of sealed ball bearing, well to say the least the seal was gone and half the bearings missing causing the remaining bearins to all to one half of the cirle thus making the flywheel spin off center and causing my terrible vibration, I dont know if me driving it home with this vibration sent the bellhousing on its way of if it was cracked before the dual mass crapped out, I cant believe the tranny doesnt have a detachable bellhousing, kinda pisses me off. but I need to get it back on the road and havent decided if I'm going to put another dual mass flywheel in it or buy a single mass flywheel set up, I dont know if the single mass will cause problems or what alanscott

With new system installed, vibration is gone, clunking and shaking at idle is gone. I do however hear a little more overall vibration at at the time of engage of the clutch at low engine RPM. It is a metallic sound and sound tinny rather than something large. I will have to track that down. Also, the inspection cover between the tranny and engine does not provide enough clearance for the seemingly thicker flywheel. It rubs on the FW.
Other than that, I am happy with my installation. It took me 2 days in the driveway of my home to make the change, but dollar wise, it was well worth it. Great clutch.
