4x4 pushbutton Questions
1994 F-150 4x4
automatic
5.8
manual locking hubs
Problem:
4x4 does engage, but only for hi range
when low range button is pushed, it does not light,click or anything
What /where should I be looking to determine the cause,fix to this problem?

Have a 91 ranger with the same problem, need to ck the elec. conections on the shift motor mounted on the rear of the transfer case, sometimes the motor gets gummed up from lack of use you could try tapping on the motor, thats worked for me.The motor turns to the first position for 4wd then n then 4wd low range. then reverse to take out of low range and 4wd.

your suggestion of tapping it with a hammer was right-on
it obvisouly hasn't been used in awhile
and was gummed up/stuck from lack of use.
It now works fine, as I pushed the button to engage and dis-engage a bunch of times,
Works perfect now,
and tested to make sure it was acutaly in low range, many times
