rockwells are 2.5 ton axles...these are the axles that are put in miltary deuce and a halves 6x6's.
the ttb pivots in the middle and the tires get rubbed in all sorts of odd positions b/c the tires are not designed to be used in parallel with the ground when going over rough terrain (around turns, potholes doin 70 mph, speedbumps) whereas monobeams will pretty much stay parallel all the time unless you are in an extreme situation.
a D44 and a D50 (both ttb) are designed with the same geometry...but just as weak.
The Leaf sprung TTB's have similar geometry to a coil sprung one, BUT, they have shorter I-beams, making the amount of camber change caused by suspension travel even greater. They ride worse, and are even harder on tires...
TTB sucks, but its great if you wanna run 44's or larger
well you have to be careful....the ttb axles with auto hubs came on the 8500lb+ GVWR and the manual hubs came on the axles with 8400lb GVWR (you can't have a 8401lb to 8599lb GVWR, Ford is weird) so getting the auto hubs are gonna be your best bet, and they are more reliable b/c you don't have to ever get off your lazy butt and lock/unlock them! i mean it's a teuck c'mon guys, we gotta have our 16 cd player, leather seats, and butt warmers! who needs 4x4!

are these rockwells 8-10-or 12 lug axles? or 6? because i saw a ford on fourwheeler that supposedly had rockwells with only 6 lugs and it was running the 53" michelins
