I don't think you will notice a whole lot with the 10k mod. You have diminishing returns with the 2 together. Take the 10k mod out and then put the SCMT in. I think you will like the overall performance of it. The SCMT adjusts the shift points on your transmission. The 10k mod won't.
Did you do all of those mods at the same time? I have read that some folks have actually seen less bottom-end performance with a 4" downpipe. Not sure....just guessing.........
Its your exhaust. I have the same problem with my 99. I installed the tow performance program with the stock exhaust and it was a hugh difference. Then I put on the 4" downpipe and it was okay but not nearly as good as with the stock exhaust. Im getting in my 3.5" downpipe on monday and hopefully if they sent the reducer from 4" to 3.5" I will install it monday. I also called superchips about the downpipe and was told they designed the Supertuner with the stock exhaust.
I will know tomorrow hopefully if there is a difference. I just need to find a plug for the pyrometer hole in the banks downpipe and I will install the 3.5" downpipe. If anything the quality of the banks downpipe is excellent so it should do better then the dynomax 4" downpipe.
I don't understand how the thing works. I can definitely tell the difference between having it turned on and not, though. When I got my truck, the tuner was already installed with the high-perf program. I drove it that way for a little while before I got around to having time to experiment with it. One evening, I plugged the tuner in and played with it some. I read the error codes and I uninstalled the high-perf program and went back to stock, mainly just to see how it was done and to see how long it would take. While in stock set-up, I drove the truck down the road just to ascertain the difference. Man, I couldn't believe how slow the truck seemed to me. It especially seemed droopy off the line, and the tranny shifts were definitely different....flatter, I guess would describe it.
I cannot understand or explain what might be going on with your tuner, wfodickinson....but I am totally happy mith mine.........
I have a manual transmission. I get the feeling that by changing the shift points on the auto it may be creating the illusion that there is more HP being generated.
