f1ock557848
114 m f1oo 581 d 12
anything you could tell me would be appreciated
can any one help me with some canadian numbers. they seem to be way different than what is posted on this vin decoder site. is there different information for units that come from Oakville Ontario plant.
I will have to when I get home. I am at the office and usually don't drive my truck to work. it is like a long 5 or 6 digit number with a letter on the end - another long number with a letter. I will post it tonight if I get one here. I have 2 units a 63 and a 65.
Cory: Found my information on the Canada VIN but unfortunately it really isn't much help to what you are after. I'm missing the fine details like what the engine/paint codes are and the such. As far as the actual numbers, try this...
For the 65
4-Ford 8 cylinder
99-Pickup
10-Series (f100)
28-Wheel base
L-?
229020-Serial number
A-? possibly group
For the 63
6-Ford 6 cylinder
99-Pickup
10-Series (f100)
28-Wheel base
Z-?
173789-Serial number
A-? possibly group
Mike G....you truck is a bit new than mine....by about 10000 units....heres the breakdown:
F25= F250
D=352/208 hp
R=Built in San Jose Ca
710309, the sheet I have from here does show a 7-65 build date. Mine shows its a june build, but my tranny, and steering box show july build dates. I havent pulled the cluster, but sometimes they have a build date on those...I parted a super close relative to mine(built same day) and its cluster says May 65
129 is wheelbase in inches
M is color=Corintian White
4= beige vinyl interior....a basket type weave
81= conventional cab
N= NP435 trans
B4= 4.10 rear end(5.2M*...manual says that star means cap. in thousands
On the RH side of the trans on the pto coverup and down if you carefully scrape awayin the area, you will see the build tag with its actual date of build
75= DSO(where sold)= theres no 75 shown for 65....this starts in 67 which is Phoenix
The tranny tag is pretty easy to break down....post those numbers if you get motivated to go looking for the tag.
Hope this helps...If you need anything give a holler as far as parts go.....
I have another Canadian tag for a 61 Mercury unibody. I'm most curious as to what the NR is for the engine last owner had it for 15 years thinking it was a 292 yet the casting #'s indicate 272. here is the tag
55197A- 1661022NL trim O1 paint 1AA axle code 3.70.1 series m-F100 wheel base 122 max GVW 5000 lbs engine NR trans 3.LD anyone with breakdowns I would appreciate.
I'm robbing the above truck for the power train and getting rid of the rest. Inside cab had fire (vandalism) sheet metal solid most areas no gate.
Paso:
Sorry I do not have the detailed info for the cubic inch displacement for the Canadian VIN. Perhaps someone else with more knowledge will check in.
