What kind of HP and torque gains are reported for the tymar intake setup. i have a 95 psd and am curious what kind of performance i will see with this intake.
The hp and torque gains with a TYMAR will be minimal by itself. What it will do for you is increase airflow, which will increase boost slightly, and reduce EGT's slightly. It will enhance any other performance mod, though.
My first mod, way back when, was a TYMAR, and a local club had a dyno day. The totally stock trucks were dyno-ing in the 180-190rwhp range. I dyno-ed at 194 with nothing but a TYMAR. My truck has always dyno-ed better than other similarly equipped trucks, so the TYMAR might have been responsible for the extra 4hp. It definitely makes the other mods I've done since work better.
The only regret anyone has ever had after installing a TYMAR is that they didn't do it sooner.
The main benefits of the Tymar if you have no other mods are that the turbo will spool up faster and you are sure the filter seals well and filters well. It will help keep your EGTs down if you add a chip or tuner later (with gauges of course!).
