The 79s were most definetly the peak of Fords last great truck. Way back when a truck was really a truck, when you could actually throw a 1000 pounds of stuff in the back and the truck wouldn't complain. When you could get a big V8 in a light duty truck (460 in an F100).

I agree w/ Mattsbox on that one
My 76 is great.
F-100... Ive had it crammed full of logs to the top of the bed, and a trailer w/ two 4 wheelers, and other misc junk thrown on it, and it wouldnt squat hardly at all
Mine only has a 302... but that will change eventually.
I quit driving a 90 model X brand for my 76 F-100 as I've mentioned before... tell you anything about these trucks?

I did read the whole thing Justin... I'm excited now... I have one to many projects as my Dad tells me all the time, and their at my house not his. The old Bronco will be an ongoing thing forever I think, just bought it. By far I love the EB the most. I hope the rest of them don't get mad because the Bronco is the new kid in the house. He needs the most attention right now. My 87 F-250 has a 460 waiting to be put in it which should of been done by now, but trying to get the Bronco on the road. You know topless time. 97 Expy looks great, killer sound system, I use that just for the chick thing. 2000 Ranger gets driven for work only. It get decent gas milage. Next one will be a soft tail but thats not a truck. See ya, Dan

I also read the whole thread. Right now I own a '99 Ford F-350 Crew Cab dually Power Stroke Diesel. That is my baby. My husband owns a '93 Ford Escort.
In the past I've owned an '85 Ford Ranger, a '92 Ford Ranger Exteded cab and a '98 Ford contour. But nothing takes the place of my F-350. I just love my trucks.

My buddy's father has an AMC in his garage, pretty nice. I've only seen it once, we all went to the race track together. He ran a 15 or so with it, still needs to be tuned. I've only got 1 truck in my stable, the ol' F-150, so I have nothing nice to brag about, but I do have a 04 snowmobile if that counts
My uncle has three AMXs. Had a Javelin but he sold it. I can't remember if one of the AMXs is a Mark Donohue, or if he sold that one too, but know he had one. IIRC, two are 401s and one is a 390. Don't think any of them run right now but he keeps them stored inside and they're all in pretty good shape.

I had a '74 Pontiac Grand Am, 455 4-speed....couldn't keep it running, it was all boogered together, and sold it to a kid from Tulsa. Also had a '78 Dodge Lil Red Express for a while, sold it too, and the idiot that bought it tore it up within a few months. Wish I'd kept them both now.

Oh, yeah, what I have now: '95 Mercury Tracer, best car I've ever owned, bought new; '99 Escort wagon, wife's car, also bought new; '79 F-250, bought it last December; and an '82 Lincoln Mark VI that my brother and I started fixing up. Still needs some work but runs fine. Also got an '83 Dodge W-250 but it stays out with my brother-in-law, it's a good work truck but a little too shaky to take on the highway.
