Johnboy- On my 200sx, the motor is a 1.8. They only built the turbo for 2 years, '84 and '85. Mine has 175,000 on it, all original except the clutch and the turbo, both replaced at around 85k after I let my dad drive it for a few months, as I had just bought a new '88 Mustang GT conv. My dad is hard on cars...he kills everything he owns. He just bought an '80 Lincoln, the two-door coupe with a 351w. Blew it up a week later. I think it's his chemistry, he shouldn't touch anything mechanical! Oh, and add to the list, two more Rangers that I just picked up today, an '85, and an '84 xlt. Both are just for parts at this point, but I may fix up the '84 and give it to my bro-in-law.

'93 ranger s/c 4x4 4.0 5-spd 72,000 miles, was originally from colorado, had parking permit / pass stickers in windshield from peterson a.f.b. wish the dealer had left them in, it was kinda cool. also have a '93 taurus with 49,000 miles nothing fancy, just had to rebuild front end from a minor collision. this was the best deal i got on a car ever. got it 3 years ago, belonged to the grandmother of my sisters husband. was a demenstrator, had only 25,000 miles on it, garaged (until i bought it) and only gave $2,500 for it, yep, two thousand- five hundred dollars. what a deal. makes up for paying 10 grand for my ranger. (just got last august) but i figered it only had 65,000 miles on it (at that time) was set up the way i wanted it, and a new comparativly equiped one would be over 20 grand. didnt know till after the deal closed what kbb was. at least i got to dump the oil-burning '99 pontiac montana i still owned $8,000 on. every time i looked unde the hood it was like how am i ever gona work on this thing. it rode nice but used a quart of oil every 500 miles, and it only took one time of loading/unloading my 12' canoe from the roof to realize that it aint gona work. other fords i have owned: '71 bronco, '82 fairmont sport coupe,'88 ranger s/c 2wd. first car was a '79 amc concord 232 I-6. jacked up in the back with gold-painted cragers at all four corners. looked fast but could be beat by its own shadow. had a '85 jeep cj-7 that looked good but was always breaking something. would love to have a 4x4 fullsize ford van someday, but at todaays gas prices, i'll be keeping my 17 mpg ranger for as long as it will run.

I drive my dad's cars...he owns:
'97 Ford E-350 Clubwagon XLT 12-pass, 6.8L V10, 4.10LS, 143K+ miles
'93 Ford Escort LX Wagon, 1.9L I4, 170K+ miles - 30mpg, hwy or city
'87 Ford E-150 Mark III Conversion Van, 5.0L V8, 3.55, 200K-ish miles - worn out and up for sale
'86 Ford Taurus GL Wagon (my car), 3.0L V6, 192K+ miles - also worn out and for sale
Just sold:
'79 Ford F-150 Custom SuperCab Longbox 4x2, 5.0L V8, 170K-ish miles
'78 Ford F-250 Custom CrewCab Shortbox 4x2, 7.5L V8, 150K-ish miles
We also drive an SUV that my uncle owns:
'97 Ford Expedition XLT 4x4, 5.4L V8, 3.73ls, 117K-ish miles
I'm hoping to buy a mid-90's Ford Crown Victoria or Lincoln Town Car - I love big cars and you can see we're pretty well sold on FoMoCo products. I've thought about a Lincoln Continental, but at the age (and thus, mileage) I'm looking at, I just feel better about a V8/RWD car.

I actually think this is a pretty cool thread, and I read the whole thing
89 Mustang GT Convertible
This car is absolutely my baby, an ongoing project, just like the rest of these
73 F100 4x4 429 thunderjet
My other baby, not running yet being stripped down and getting ready to paint, another project
82 F-150 4x4 w/a 302
Mama's truck, another project she wants to lift it and get 33's or 35's you know the drill
83 Chevy suburban 4x4 6.2 Liter Diesel
This is a project we are doing together, Its the only chevy I own as ford dint make anything really comparable back then (did ford make the "centurion" back then?) in fact it just towed Ivanribic home from the ORV park today, the thing just never stops pulling....its like an old dog that wont die
01 Mazda 626...daily driver and for mama and basic modern plastic piece of junk.
78 Toyota Celica GT is my daily driver...soon to be replaced by a 4-eyed carbed mustang as a daily driver
I used to think we had too many cars, but a few of you guys have me trumped

I have a 79 F-150 4x4 that i plan to have as my daily when I get the front end fixed.
a 77 F-150 that I will probably part out even though I really hate to do it because the body is in very good shape. A 76 thunderbird with a built 460 that I will either take the motor out of and put it in my truck or I will make a racecar out of it and race it at the local dirt track. Last I have my dads 88 chevy that I want just for the hack of having. Now if this was a list of cars that I want I could go on forever.

Cornbinders may rust, but that doesn't seem to bother them any, they just keep right on chugging. I was living in the southern part of the state for about 5 years and my '63 International 3/4 ton crewcab 4X4 was stored up here at my brother-in-law's place. I was saddened to find that he had given it away when I came back. It didn't cost me anything, It had sat on a mountain top for two years with no hood before it was given to me, and the engine was full of water but not frozen. I pulled the oil drain plug and let the water run out the bottom, when oil started coming out I put the plug back in, pulled the spark plugs and cranked the engine shooting water out of the cylinders, shot a little WD-40 in and put some old plugs in that were in the back seat, pulled the carb and cleaned out the leaves and water and cleaned it up, put in fresh gas, fired it up and drove it 30 miles to get it home, running great all the way. Used it as a ranch truck for about 5 or 6 years hauling logs with the winch on the front. Yeah, it was so rusty that I had to wear a rain coat in it when it was raining, but what character that truck had. I liked it almost as much as my Fords! -TD
