I just drove my '79 Bronco home today from the office where I had been working on it (the building management people didn't like folks working on their cars in the parking lot :-( )
I also got a new rear window motor today.
What's the best way to remove the rear glass to put in the motor? I have the glass all the way down (in order to open the rear hatch/door).
To get mine in/out so I could replace the gears I:
1 put the window down
2 opened the tailgate
3 put the glass up (have to close the latch or bypass the switch with a jumper)
4 unclip the wiring (not sure how far back this scenario goes, but on my 90 there are 3 or 4 points where the wiring is clipped into the tailgate to keep it clear of the gears
5 unbolt the motor
6 unplug the motor
7 reverse
Of course, I have to do the whole thing over again because the fishing weights I used weren't big enough (ran out ).
