Newly purchased truck; first posting.........looking for anyone with experience or opinions regarding front and rear lowering using "mono" leaf springs. Good idea or bad idea? I haven't found many options for the 63. Thanks.
Mono's are one way, flipping the spring perches is another. You could also remove a leaf or two. It really depends on your budget and the end use of the truck.
I believe the monos will work for a cruiser but you can almost forget about using the truck for hauling anything. I installed monos on the rear of my truck and the axle sits about three inches from the frame. I'm either going to notch the frame or run coilovers to help absorb the bumps.
When I was lowering my truck, I took out three leafs in the rear and it RAISED the truck nearly an inch, so I asked a guy at a spring shop here in Atlanta and he said that what happens is that the leafs I took out were straighter that the main leaf, which in turn allowed it to become more arced thus raising the truck!!! So I bought reversed eyed leafs for the front and rear.
