My 94 explorer is starting to make a winding noise. At first I thought a pulley bearing was going bad, so I replaced pulleys and the water pump that needed to be replaced anyway. But the winding noise continues and is coming from the rear part of the engine where the distributer cap is. It does this mostly when the vehicle is in acceleration over 1500 rpm's, but every now an then when it is in idle. I'm trying to locate what's causing the noise but no luck.
Has anyone had this problem before, or have an idea where or what is causing this noise?
