I would like to install a billet grille.........is the one that requires cutting alot of work. or can a shadetree mech do it with good results. Ive seen the bolt on but it just dosent have that clean look.
I put a trendz billet grill in my truck last week. Not the first billet I have installed. Not the easiest, nor the hardest. Take your time, cut slowly. The better your cuts are and look the better the end result.
Only think I recomend it covering the entire chrome portion with masking tape. Easy clean up and you don't have to worry so much about scratches.
Are you putting in the full cut out like this one? It is not hard, just a lot of work and a steady hand. It takes about 4 hours. A dremel is useless unless you have 100s of cutoff wheels and a week to do it. I used a 4 inch grinder with a cutoff wheel and then an 80 grit sanding wheel to smooth it all out.
