Dual Cats??

i have a 93 xlt with a 3.0, i looked under the frame today and noticed that it looks like it has two cats in a row on the same pipe? does this sound right to anyone?

My 93 AWD with 4.0 has same set up. Can't say why it's set up that way though SORRY

I would think that it is a cat converter and a resonator.

On some Fords their are 2 cats inline the first is a smaller to heat up faster for emissions.

both my 3.0 and 4.0 have what looks like 2 cats in a row, took em out of my 3.0. the 4.0 is next.

are there any advantages/disadvantages to do de-catting

advantages, i think there is beter airflow which would mean increase hp. disadvantages would be, its illegal, well here in ontario it is
