auto tranny underfilled, problem?
Does it die every time it's put into reverse, or just once? What about the forward gears? Any strange noises? You didn't say how little fluid was left or which tranny it is. If the fluid looks and smells burned and/or has a metallic residue, it's likely you have some damage. Negotiate with the dealer to cover the cost of having an independent specialist flush out and inspect the tranny, but YOU pick the shop, not the dealer. Don't drive it even if it's driveable - have it towed; a possible cheap fix can turn fatal if floating debris clogs the valve block. Once you both know the amount of damage, you can haggle about who pays for what.
