Question Recommend a source?

Can anyone recommend a source for the center/main section of a grille for a 54 Pontiac?

Condition of chrome is not too important as it'll be painted.

The source must have email and do mail order.

(Yes, Kenny/Ken it's to be used on Euphemia so this post doesn't contravene the rules)

A Cdn source would be preferred but U.S. is fine.

Thanks,

Do you want that piece that looks like a cross between a "Catfish's Mouth" and a "Hoover Vacum Cleaner" floor attachment?

Penn Dick,

$100 or less.

No complete rust through.

Don't need or want the extensions which house the signal lights.
Don't need the little insert that resides in the mouth of it.

T H A N K S ! ! ! !

If the Creek don't rise, I'll be looking.
There may be one problem, I don't have a NY State Fishing permit, I could get picked up for snagging carp.

RMF

Please post or email a PIC of a "Carp Grill". I think I need to see this for myself. And is this grill best viewed drunk or sober?

Hold on here a minute, boys. Sounds like Handsome Bob has something of a "customized" grille coming for his truck. I like the idea. Let me amend that, I love the idea. Many of our viewers allow that the '54 has the ugliest grille of the 53-56 family. What in the wide wide world of sports is wrong with attempting some improvement? I'm still looking for those '53 Buick headlights... hang in there, Ferg, I got your back. originally. himmelberg

Ah ha, this may be true, but isn't the use of big words like "Euphemia" against the forum's constitution?

Not sure if Hemmings motor news is available up in your neck of the woods, but they do have a pretty good used parts classified section.

Kenny et all,

Euphemia is actually the name of my sorry beast. (It's also a name found in my family tree - fairly common in Scotland in the 1800's and the short form of it is - EFFIE. so how clever is that, eh?)

I tried the on line Hemmings and didn't find anything.

Figured guys like Penn Dick or Carl might have some contacts. Hell, we might even have some closet Poncho fans that could direct me to a Poncho enthusiats site....(although ya gotta be careful talking to enthusists of of other marques when you're adapting their parts to another make...they get touchy about it)

I'll try to include a photo of the desired grill component with this reply -

Nope, don't know how....

(This is the same grill that Jim Richmond used on his 53-56 F100 that was featured in several magazines about a year ago or so. Think his truck was red or blue....)

Yes, my Canadian brother, I will attempt a sample here.

I stick the pic in my gallery, then click on the forum code, then copy the code and paste it here.
This is just a quick sketch, gang... but witness the clean front aspect in the Ferguson approach. Great work. best. himmelberg

OK, I can live with that. It's a nice clean look. You may proceed Mr Ferguson. I know you where waiting for my blessing. I think you might consider smoothing up the air deflectors though. The Poncho grill isn't going to cover up the utility look of the normally hidden sheetmetal.

Himmelberg,

Thanks.

'fenders,

Yes, of course I was awaiting your approval. Thanks, now i can proceed....once I find the grill piece, that is....

GW,

Yep, I do plan to do the fabricatin myself. Shouldn't be too difficult.

I must admit that I don't spend as much time on here as when I was working....Now that the snow is almost gone, been spending a lot of time elsewhere/outdoors/etc.
