I Have A 1984 Ford F-150 4x4 With A 351w (2-barrell). I Would Like To Put A Good Hi-performance 4 Barrell / Intake Combo On It. If Someone Could Help Me Out And Let Me Know Whats The Best Wat To Go? Thanks, Also I Am Trying To Find A Set Of Perfect Fit Headers For The Same Engine. Help, Thanks Again
If its shorties then call summit 1-800-230-3030 or jegs 1-800-345-4545 they should have what you need. If by perfect fit you mean not crap, then get a set of long tubes, they are a little better at developing low end torque, this does require you modify or have your exhaust modified.
edelbrock performer intake and ebelbrock performer 600 cfm carb is what I use and it does fine. My next venture will be a weiand stealth intake and either a holley or demon carb (in the 625-650 cfm range), so I would suggest that, I have used holley carbs they are fine, the weiand intakes I have used those as well and liked'em, demon I have never used but being its a holley carb thats been accessorized, haha, and given others feedback it should be a good piece with some tuning, everyone says out of the box the demon needs to be tuned, but once the bugs are worked out its great, the edelbrock I use didn't require anything more than idle mixture screw adjustment, which every carb needs, I switched out the metering rods and jets and played with it and the stock setting was fine. Its a stock 351w like yours. Who knows? Good luck with your decision
If you want torque (important for trucks), look for something like the Edelbrock Performer intake and a Holley truck Avenger. They probably match the factory cam better too.
I've the Edelbrock Performer, a Street Avenger, a 260H cam and Mustang shorty headers on my '69 F100 351W and it RUNS!
