trading a chip

A buddy of mine just bought a 99 350 7.3L (just 5 months new then mine) and is looking for a little more power. I have a superchip chip that im not using now. Would there be any concerns with letting him use the chip?
In other words, since hes a lariat ex cab 2wd, and im xlt crew 4wd, will that make a diff?
(computer calibration codes are the same)

The only thing that matters is the PCM calibration, since your two trucks are the same I don't see a problem. What HP tune is the chip? You are going to tell him he needs gauges before you let him go tearing around town...right?

Friends don't let friends drive trucks with a chip and no gauges.

well, the gauge point is very true.
When i first bought the truck used, it had this chip in it and i dorve cross country with it, not aware the truck was chipped pulling nearly an 8k load.
Stock intake, stock exhaust.
Not saying i did the truck any good, but its still running strong 20k later.
Dont worry, i will advise him on at least pyro and maybe boost.

doesnt the computer code on the ECU have to be the same as well. i thought that even the same model and year could have different codes.

electronic control unit (the computer), when i have ordered chips they always asked for that code, it is on sticker on the inner front drivers door jam, and it is also on the barcode sticker on the computer case, for instance the code on my truck(i think one company refered to it as a capture code) is PMT-1, and any of the cips i have got said PMT on the chip

thats funny, when i worked in home electronics sales PCM stood for "plus code modulation"(its a form of digital audio recording), i got the term ECU from having work done on my merc. opti-max outboard, they had to replace the ECU and when i asked what that was i was told the Electronic cotrol unit, like the computer in your truck
