Audrey and I had a good time at the show, although we preferred Pigeon Forge.

Thanks to Bill and Phyllis for the hospitality and setting up the great meeting place/restaurant Friday eve. John, Sharon and Kevin,my compliments on finding the place unassisted.

The only thing I bought was stainless steel exhaust tips, since I bought out Midfifty at last years show.

We didn't have motel reservations so when we arrived at 3:00 am Friday we couldn't find a room at 398 so we backtracked to 407 and luckily found a place to stay. That was a good choice since Audrey wanted to go to Gatlinburg on Saturday.(There was a great flea market at the 407 also).

DuhWayne(sp?), we missed you and your mrs. and daughter. Hope to see you there next year. I'll have the purple '55 there if I can afford the gas.

Doh! That wasn't a very representative sample, huh? I have added a few more trucks to my pages. Page 1 was supposed to have the final four. I think I have the right panel on there now. Didn't get a picture of the engine bay for some reason.

Enjoy!

Yes that panel is the one that made it to the final 4! It's Larry Hill's "53 Floored Panel, 2nd time out. He's a fellow Ontarian, from Orillia and a long time memeber of SOCP (Southern Ontario Classic Pickups) for Ford & Mercury pickups ...& Panels

I can't believe a C**** engined truck would win a Ford best of show (although we all know it's happened many times). The engine is the heart of the vehicle. Would you put a monkeys heart in a human and call that cross-breed the same as a stock human? I think not! Barf.

I know that wouldn't happen at one of "their" shows. How do we go about starting a movement to make a change?

I vote for the Squeeze or the panel.

I Started reading about all I misssed at the 2004 Supernats, Kinda Knowing that there would be some great FTE Folk out there (thinking about us poor folk that for whatever reason could not make it), that would go through the trouble to make a CD. I got last years and would like to keep getting them eack year as long as they are available. Hope to get there myself soon. I will Gladly reimburse for postage, CD, and whatever.

Where there many 57 thru 60's this year?

There were more than I had ever seen there before. Just guessing but maybe 15-20. I know that is not many but it is probably double last year.

Moping and Pouting

I didn't make it this year, and it was the first time in four or five years I have missed it. Glenn, Paul, John, Ken, and all my other FTE buddies, I REALLY missed y'all this year!

Some of you will remember that I got laid off a month before last year's show. That wasn't entirely bad, because I have gone back to school, and I'm now an overaged Senior at the University of Kentucky. HOWEVER, being a student has done nothing for my budget, so I just plain couldn't afford to go this year.

Sigh......

You found us that was my lead protester with the no chevy sign and the cheerleaders were hold my banner. Actually they were holding it because they thought fat fendered ford, aka Kevin was a little stud muffin.....Not my words mind you .....thats just what the cheerleaders were saying

Been reading all these replys from those who attended the show in knoxville. I was hoping to meet some of you there and introduce myself and my wife. Since this was my first time to this event i didn't know who or what to look for. I am already planning on going next year so maybe we can meet then.

Had a great time, enjoyed looking at all the trucks. Never made it to the swap meet.

For those in the northeast ohio and western pa. next weekend is the steel valley nationals at the Canfield fair grounds south of Youngstown. Our truck club is planning on driving in and showing the trucks. The club is called The Nostalgic Haulers. Stop by and say hello.

You know this is bunk, if you went to the chevy pickup nationals......you would not see a truck on stage with a ford motor. And while I am on my soap box, why can't we have several classes like F1, F100, Panels driven. Then have a open class for trailered vehicles no matter what year.

Just my thought

Bill
I thought the Chevy engine issue had been addressed some years ago after all the fur that flew the last time that happened.

I also agree with the driven vs trailer queen classes. I certainly do not go looking to win anything (although I did because they screwed up) but it is real hard to compete with a truck that has never seen a road or rain when you drive 1000 miles each way in your 75K mile truck.
