DIY carbon fiber overlays?

i can't afford to have my dash parts dipped and they don't make dash overlay kits for a 1991 F250 (i think). anyone know if this is a do-able home project? any other ideas to dress up the dash parts other than the wood grain i already have. i was thinking of a brushed aluminum look. thanks

Brushed aluminum would def look good in place of the stock woodgrain....I was and still am a huge fan of the mid 80's ford trucks that had the XLS package with the brushed alum look on the inside...very sporty!
