Lets hope they stretch a few more gallons/mile with some use, or Ford comes up with a program/flash that can help.. SOON...

Mine has 5650; I have a Supechips microtuner on 150 horse performance setting. I drive with the pedal bending the firewall - 14 around town, and 19 on the highway...this is with black smoke pouring every time i get the chance. If i drive very easy (which is very rare) its gets about 15.5/21. Im extremely happy with the mileage, especially considering the power. I am also running stock exhaust, the tuner is the only mod on the truck. Diesel here is also about a quarter a gallon cheaper here in western NC.

My '03 F350 gets 15mpg average with an AFE intake, turbo back Magnaflow exhaust and Predator set to tow mode. Even in stock tune with the 10/03 flash never has done better than 16mpg. But can't complain, didn't buy it for economy, bought it to pull with and it sure does it well.

Thanks for the input. Feel better now that I know I'm getting par for the course. As far as the fuel gauge, I've noticed a rapid drop between full and 3/4 too. I get about 120 miles before the gauge moves off full, then about 35-40 from full to 3/4. It goes back to a normal rate after that.

we have a 7 or 8K lb truck... and it does what it does...
I RARELY worry about fuelage...
but those that do should have had an idea of what the truck CAN and SHOULD do....
Remember, you can't get something from nothing...
This smaller displacement 6-oh generates MUCH more power and has more EPA requirements it has to meet... so it takes away from the mileage...
maybe the Ford claim of increase mileage was something like:
"Think how bad it would be WITHOUT these improvements"

OK lets do some math for fun………..
Average year of driving….say 15000
At 14.5 that is 1,034 gallons at…..less say for argument sake 1.69 = $1,747.46
Now less go to 17.1 is 877 at = 1,482.45 delta of 265.01 Dollars.
Less go the other way 12.2 = 1,229 = $2,077.86 delta of $ 330.44 ....THIS A YEAR.
Come on guys this is a 7k TRUCK, if you want MPG by a VW Golf
I really have a VERY hard time with all this talk about MPG, do the math.
Go for the rebuttals.
My math OK?
Better check me!
