what rpm
I Have Just Purchased A F450 With A 19 Ft Jer Dan Rollback Bed. My Concern Is Thst Rpm Should It Be Turning At 70 Mph. It Has A Five Speed Manuel Trans And A 7.4 Turbo Diesel. I Drove It 60 Miles At 70 Mph And It Was Turning 3200 Rpm And The Trans Started Getting To Hot !!!!!!!! Help

I don't have a 450 but the drive train is about the same as my F250 only difference is the gearing in the differential. So you should be running between 2000 and 2500 rpm's at 70 mph given the gearing changes. Maybe someone with the same set up as u can give a better set of numbers. List what your gearing and set up is so others can chime in.

I think you mean a 7.3 Turbo Diesel. You might look into either slightly larger tires or changing the gear ratio. The gear ratio is obviously lower (by lower I mean higher number than) 4.10. Maybe you should swap to a 4.10 gear.
