Question Is my engine seized up?

Im restoring a 64 f-100. It has been sitting for approximatley 15 years. I tried starting it, but the fan turned a little bit then stop. The generator started smoking, is my engine seized up, or is my generator bad??
Thanks

Pull the belts off and try to crank it over. Pull the coil wire off the coil so it doesn't start on you. Have someone watch the lower pulley to see if it's turning. If the engine was siezed, all it would do is make a clunking sound of the starter engaging the flywheel. You can also try to turn the engine over by hand with a socket and breaker bar. I'll bet the generator is seized up inside, that's why it started to smoke.

I'll 2nd Barrys' reply. ALso disconnect the generator from the system so it doesn't kill your battery, where there's smoke there's sure to be a short circuit.

And once you discover it's not siezed, but before you try to crank it up & run it, I'd yank the plugs & squirt a few drops of Marvel Mystery oil in all cylinders. Next change the oil & filter (Use cheap oil first go-round). Then crank it over until you get oil pressure up, and the Marvel Mystery Oil gets distributed in the rings & cylinder walls.

CHeck the points etc, check the coolant, use a Oil Can to full the carb float bowl full of fresh gasoline through the vent tube. Replace the plugs & fire it up. when it starts, block the radiator with a piece of card board so the engine almost overheats, remove it & let it run to cool down. If all goes well, change the cheap oil with good in 500 miles or less. By doing all this you will reduce chance for damage or harm to engine.

I'd first of all i'd styart buy yanking the belts good idea. i'd then pull out your plug's,and drip some mystery oil in the holes the try to turn it over as it will spinn easyer with out the plug's once it has spun a few times oil it up new plug's ,wire ect. then prime carb and fire it up and hope it don't knock knock. or chap chap. tickitty click.
