I am installing new mirrors and I need to plug or fill in the old holes. What would be the best thing for it. My paint is good and I dont want to repaint the door. Any tips or tricks to keep the paint to a min> I want to do this myself. Thanks

Assuming you want the repair to be invisible...
No matter what you do, you will need to sand and put down some primer. With that in mind, I would plug the holes with metal. Once you have done that, you never have to worry about them coming loose. Metal is certainly better than some fiberglass slopped on.
BTW, for that invisible repair, you might find painting the whole door works better than trying to do a blend.
I agree. Plug the holes with a MIG welder or torch, and paint the whole door. WEhen I plug holes with a MIG, I hold a peice of brass on the backside while making the weld. Others insert a nail into the hole from the back, and then weld, and grind off the nail.
