oil slinger?
I just pulled my 460 out of my 79 F350 to rebuild it.
My question, is there suppose to be a oil slinger on the crank shaft?
Because there wasn't one in there when I removed the timing cover.
Can I go to the junk yard and get one out of any 429-460?
Thanks Vince

i just changed the timing gears on my 460 motorhome and there is a flat disc oil slinger between the front cover and the timing gears.

Thanks Whiskeyfox,
I went and bought "How to rebuild your ford V8" and couldn't find any reference to it.
The p/o replaced the timing cover with a new one and must not have put the slinger back in,that explains the oil leak.
Thanks again, Vince
