Last month we attended the all Ford show at Knotts Berry Farm in Buena Park. I brought back some pix for those who are interested. I tried to post them here on the thread, but found it to be more difficult than my poor brain can comprehend. So look at the last frames in my gallery. My favorite was the COE. John
Thanks Chitown, The bed wood is red oak and was part of the kit from Sac Vintage Ford. Seven coats of spar varnish on all sides as specified by our very own site members. The exhaust pipes off the mighty 289 are 2" stainless with Magna Flow mufflers. (lifetime warranty, same $ as Flowmasters, and they sound better!) John
The bumper on the black 56 is a 55-59 C---y. I tried to fit on to my 53 F100, but it would not fit unless it protrudes to far forward for my tastes. I have seen other pics of this truck and they all are front shots. I would like to see how it looks from the side. I like this look on our trucks, however, the only bumper of this type that I have found to fit is 58/59 deluxe. They are not being reproduced and are hard to find.
Good eye, I noticed this bumper as being very different also, but I was there. You guys picked up on it from just looking at the pic. I concur that it looks like a ch**y bumper. Up close, the only negative I could see was that it was very close to the fenders at the corners. But spaced out much more in the center. So the spacing is not consistent. I'll just stick with stock. Thanks for looking. John
Thanks for sharing your pictures John. Thanks also for the "report" on the bumper fitment, that is how I determined one would fit, not well. I will also stick with a stock one, but I think I will move it up and closer to the body. Joe
