Exclamation Headers and brake, fuel lines

just installed headers in my 460 swap and noticed the rubber fuel line is 2", tranny lines are 1", and brake line 1" from different parts of the headers. I have some 1000 degree heat shield for a starter I am cutting up and wraping these lines with it. Will this fix be safe or should I wrap the headers in these areas also? I haven't run my new engine down the road yet (just got the cam broke in) so I don't know how hot things will get. Is there a 'safe' clearance for these lines?
Thanks

Are they coated headers??? If so, that really, really cuts down on the heat that comes off of them. If it were me, I would probably replace the rubber fuel line with steel line anyway. The other two should be fine though.

When I used to work at Jegs we sold this stuff made by COOL-IT that was a sticky backed thermal barrier tape that works real well for stuff like that.....its about $15.00 also so it is cheap insurance. In one case I have it actually laying on my header of my daily driver and it has not even discolored in five years of driving.

They are L & L headers, nickel plated, no coating. Yeah, Bigsnag, I will take your suggestion and replace the rubber fuel line, that way I can re-route it also. Hookin'78, I'll look into COOL-IT. Thanks guys!
