Have tried searching FAQ as you suggested for info on tooth adjustment for larger tires. Have tried every word individually and in combination and all come up as no hit. Please direct me to the info. Thanks
Subtract a tooth to make the speedo read about 4 mph higher. Add to do the opposite. There is a formula to make it an almost exact science, but, odds are the 4 mph rule will get you close enough. Also, if you have to go more than 2 teeth from the factor size, odds are you will have to go in and change the gear inside the tranny or t-case if 4wd.
Oh, if you need to know how far you are off, drive on the freeway with the speedo at 60 mph. Time how long it takes to go between mile markers. The time difference between 60 seconds, and how long it actually takes to travel the distance will tell how far off the speedo is. That's how the dealers do it on the older vehicles.
