Guys with the bad grounds are you saying it won't crank at all or will it grind or both? Mine will crank everytime but it will grind also. This is my 7th starter in about two months from various auto parts places. The NAPA ones have lasted the longest. The flex plate teeth look fine but I'm gonna replace it anyway. Not the funnest way to spend a week.

if its a grinding noise then its the flywheel. i took mine out last week and it doesnt look too bad but compared to the new one, its horrible. but if its no power, id say its corroded wires, or the relay. it could even be a bad alternator draining the battery, not sure. keep posting and let me know what you come up with.

I had a similar problem - it totally died one day (when I stopped for gas) and it turned out to be a totally dead battery. Replaced battery, it ran for a week, and then wouldn't start. Tried alternate batteries, connections, etc. and ended up by having to tow it to a garage. Turns out the starter was fused & had taken the relay with it. $200 later, and it ran long enough for the oil pump to die......
