my girlfriend has a 1991 4 cyl. ranger that has quit on her.
i am mechanically declined but i try, so please bear with me.
she said it just quit in traffic monday.
some good samaritans tried to help her. they even installed a new coil, seems it was getting no spark.
i am not sure it is the right coil because the coil wire has a snap type fitting on it so it won't come unplugged but the new coil has no mating surface.
it seems everything else bolts up and connects alright.
it still has no fire. it turns over fine but won't start.
i found the 30 amp e.e.c. fuse blown, replaced it and it blew immediatly.
what does this mean?
all advice is greatly appreciated.
Is the fuse blowing before or after you turn the key? If before it sounds like there is a short to ground in the wire between the fuse & the EEC relay. DO you have a wiring diagram??
