Hey guys I was wondering if you think those carb spacers are worth getting. I guess they are suppose to "increase/stimulate" lowend torque but I dont know if they really do any good. If so what spacer should i look at? Any opinions are appriciated. I have a 351w with edelbrock performer intake and 600cfm carb.
Thanks, Ryan
I put one on mine, 351w 600cfm carb, performer intake, I thought it made a slight difference, but it may have been a placebo effect. Makes sense to a point, longer intake ports lean towards low end torque so adding an inch or so, should give it more low end, should. If you have to have one, get the cheapest you can find, you'll need the 4 hole design. If you can live without it, put that money towards something else. I originally bought the spacer to improve hot starts due to what was thought to be heat soak, I isolated the carb with the phenolic spacer and it went away. Good luck, let us know what you think if you do get it
Thanks for the reply. Ya, i hate when you do something to your truck and you think it made a difference but you cant prove it, so your not sure if it worked or not...wish i had a dyno at home im not sure if i am going to put one on yet. I just have never seen any stats or percent they are suppose to gain for your engine..but i see them for sale everywhere. If i do get one i suppose it wouldn't hurt anything. Ill write to this post if i get one. Thanks again for your reply jwtaylor
