differance for the 96?

Does anyone know what is different about the 96 302? Most parts catalogs list parts for the 302 up 1995 and don't have much for the 96. I'm wondering why? I just rebuilt a 89 block and put it into my 96 f150. I do know that the spark plugs are not the same (the 89's are shorter in length).

the 96 has the OBD-II computer (all 96 and up vehicles have it), with a mass airflow sensor. and more sensors all around the engine. example: 3 O2 sensors instead of 2, and they moved them to the exhaust manifold, so its hard to find headers

Most parts will interchange. Summit has headers for cheap. Alot of companies don't list parts for the 96 because of the changes in the computer. There are hidden differences with the 96 truck in general. The front axle bushing are different the ones the part stores sell arn't the right ones had to get mine from ford. Called ford and seems they had a mid year change on somethings. Why change stuff for the last half of the last year???

Because their stock was changing over to the new stuff for the new body style/chassis.
