WTF? I'm ready for a Ford again

My '04 SD is the first Ford I have owned, after 25 years of driving nothing but Chevrolets. My '02 Silverado had many of jbrownings problems, plus a few more. It was merely an inconvenience while the truck was under warranty, but then it started costing me around $400 every time I changed the oil. To be fair, I've had some awesome Chevrolet's, but in my opinion, they really screwed up dropping the original small block V8. The new generation engines run great and get awesome gas mileage, but longevity was really a concern of mine considering the way they knock when they're cold. My new SD is more truck than I expected. I was able to order heavy-duty components that Chevy doesn't even offer such as a monobeam front axle. It even handles great considering that it has the snow plow package. In my case the grass was really greener on the Ford side.

Hey rbyledbal. Welcome to FTE. Glad to see you like your new ford. What motor did you get. What were some of the problems you had with your silverado? I hope you enjoy this site.
