power question
i kno its kinda lame for me to be posting this but someone at work asked me a question n i had no way of answering it lol. ok so here goes. how much power is my motor gonna be puttin out i have a brand new top end like everything besides the intake manifold for now. the only performance mod is a low to midrange torque comp cam. intake advanced duration 255, duration at .050 204, and valve lift is .469 . and for the exhuast adv dur 263, dur at.050 215 and valve lift is .505 . the motor is a 79 351m. 4sp transmission. any estimations at all are welcome

IMO, you're going to be putting out about 200HP, which is a significant increase over stock. The real gains are going to be in torque, which should be well over 300lb/ft. My adice is that if you are replacing the top end anyway, go ahead and put some performance parts on instead of new OEM. You'll spend a little bit more, but get a huge difference in power. it's hard to tell from your post whether you already put a new top end on, or you are about to do so... but there's my estimate. Note that the 351M was built to meet EPA standards for 1980... but unless you're in california you are exempt in a 1979 truck. Exhaust is a good place to start in order to see some real gains on this particular engine.
