new exhaust
I have a 97 f-150 with the 4.6L. I need the exhaust replaced from the catalytic conv. back. I went to Tuffy for an estimate. The estimate for a stock exhaust was $1400. Is it me or does this seem high. I understand there are 4 cat. conv. on this truck. Any suggestions or comments are welcome.

That sounds way to high! Was this for a complete replacement of the exhaust with a new high flow cat? I would just get a cat back exhaust system for around $250. They pretty much bolt on all you have to do is cut your stock one from the cat back. Then you will also have some money left over for some good quality headers.
