Catalytic converter

Just a real quick question, I was told at a muffler shop this weekend that my 2003 F150 Sueprcrew already came with high flow cats and that putting on aftermarket high flows wouldn't increase sound/performance at all. Does that sound right? I can't imagine Ford putting high flow cats in stock, although I really dont know.

Someone enlighten me, please.

That's pretty much correct, when I changed mine out there was no noticable difference in the way they looked other then the case, they just use more cats from the factory limiting exhaust flow. I'm thinking they used four from the factory on your truck, my truck came with two and I replaced it with one high flow cat. Personally I wouldn't mess with them.

So another question, I guess, is what's the easiest way to check how many cats I have? I've been told both 2 and 4... I changed out my exhaust and while I was under there I looked, but I really couldn't tell how many cats there was since I didn't really know what I was looking for. I definitely saw that I have cats, but couldn't tell if it was 2 on each side or 1...

If anyone knows how many cats a 2003 F150 Supercrew with the 5.4L has, I'd appreciate knowing.
