Found a guy selling some front leaf springs from a 2004 F-250. He says the code on his door jamb, under SPR has the letters XX. Is this the "X" code springs I am looking for and if so, any idea what "fair" amout I should offer him for them??
I am only an outsider looking in here but. I thought when I was building my truck before buying the fx4 package included a standard tire size up grade. Seems to me they put 265 on the fx4 standard and 235 on the non fx4 standard. Just what remeber from a year ago.

From what I checked out last night on Ford's website the type of tire changes but not the size.
My brother-in-law's 2002 FX-4 F-250 5.4 CC short bed definitely sits higher in the front-end (not sure about the rear) than my 2000 F-350 non-FX-4 F-350 PSD CC long bed dually. I compared the two trucks sitting side by side on a flat, level, paved drive-way. I am pretty sure that his stock TYRES are bigger than my TYRES, but I know his truck is stock, and so is mine. Not sure what makes the difference. Heavier engine in my truck? Bigger TYRES on his truck? Both? Next time we both get together, I will cast my calibrated eyeball on both trucks.........
WHY CAN'T I SAY "TIRES" ON HERE????

I have a regular cab f250 with the plow prep package (x springs) and a 5.4. I have yet to see a stock SD sit higher. As to the stock tire size thing, mine origionally came with the 235 85 16 which is just slightly taller than the 265 75 16 but about an inch and a half narrower. I now had 305 70 16 procomp xterrains, and these dwarf both stockers in size.
So, you are saying that a Superduty without the plow prep package (X springs) sits lower than your with the package? How much lower would you guess?
It's my understanding that it raises the front end about 1.5-2". If you really want a lift and aren't going to plow I would advise against the X springs. They will make the ride stiffer than if you just lift the truck.
A F-250 with a 5.4 and X springs sits perfectly level with this combo. I know, I have one. As far as how it rides with X springs that depends on your taste.

Yep, because it raises the front end to sit level with the rear blocks. The F350 would still be a little higher in the rear.
