65 428 interceptor?

Found a ski boat for sale. Has a 428 fe in it. It also as a alum stock ford manifold made by Offenhauser. FORD is casted into the mainfold. Is it a police interceptor?

if the aluminum intake was on it stock, if i remember right it should be a PI, im sure someone will stop by and correct me if im wrong, whatever it is it would be nice in my truck.

Yeah, stock aluminum intakes were pi but I don't know why a 428 pi would be in an boat. I thought boats and such got industrial motors. i thought 66 was the first year for the 428.

The owner was geussing 65. Did offy make those intakes for ford? What do you think the motor is worth. The boat is going for $3000.00. The motor is in great condition. I was thinking of sticking the engine in my f100 if it would fit?

that is pretty cheap a 428 PI is worth over $1,000 running, no problem. It would fit right in your F100 if it already has an FE, if it doesnt it would definetly take a little TLC.

66 was the first year for the 428... you definetly need to buy if you can.....
