I recently had a new Sony in-dash cd player and infinity speakers installed in my '95 f-150. Now when I turn on the truck everything is clear, am, fm, and cd, but any interuption in the trucks electrical system(like the brake lights) causes everything to fuzzy. The installer told me I had a bad ground somewhere after he screwed with it for a few hours(he tried different plugs, different stereos and grounding it seperately). has anybody had this problem and could perhaps give me an idea or two.
are you running an amp to your infinity's? also, you could run a ground. just crimp a wire about 16 or 18 ga to your ground wire on your cd player (should be black). run the wire to a piece of metal that has the paint filed off.
If there is already a ground strap attached to the back of the radio, the only other thing to do would be to connect the ground wire in the radios harness to the same point. Disconnect that ground from the factory harness and connect it to the same point the radios chassis is connected to. If it is a ground problem, that should eliminate it.
