I have a 68 Cruiseomatic and a 80 Aod trans. trying to figure out what trany would be the best to use. And not even sure what all it takes to put the aod behind the 289.TV cable ect ect. Bell housing no problem, same bolt patt.

I'd go with the AOD if it's in decent shape. TV cable shouldn't be a big problem as long as
it's adjusted right. I've heard of trannies cooked in a few miles from misadjustment. I'd consider
a lower gear with the AOD though, since it's OD. I think the first gear is a 2.46, same as
C4/C6/FMX, and probably Cruisomatic as well. My Brother's 55 F100 got 26MPG with a 2bbl 351W,FMX
and 2.79 rear, but hasn't got much off the line. The AOD with a 3.55 or 3.73 should still
cruise OK at HWY speeds, and have much better acceleration. If you want to use the Cruiso,
I'll accept an AOD donation! LOL!

I don't know a thing about the TV cable, Is there actually a cable that runs from the trany to the carb? Are there certian carbs that need to be used? Right now there is just what looks like a cap on the TV port on trany.
