Engine ID
I just got the title for my 55 F-7 tow truck. I was wondering if anybody has a book that can break down this VIN #T80K5H59020. I would like to know for sure if it is a F-7 or F-8 truck, and what engine it has. Thanks.

Here's what I show in my parts catalog:
T80= T800 Tandem axle
K = 317 O H V engine
5 = 1955 model year
H= Detroit Truck Plant
59020= numerical order of assembly
There's more on your rating plate. Post it and I can decipher it for you.
