Ever since I got my rig back from the dealer (fixed a fuel tank issue) my bed has a horrible, high pitched squeal anytime the truck is in motion. Sounds like a squeeky bushing maybe. Shortly before I was going to find another dealer to bring it to I did some mild off-roading which fixed the issue. Then about three weeks ago cruising down the smooth highway it came back and hasn't stopped since. I can only hear it when my rear slider is open and I'm moving at any speed. When I'm parked i can rock the truck and jump up and down in the bed and can not reproduce it.
Any suggestions of something I might be able to do to pinpoint and resolve myself so I don't have to give up my truck to another dealer?
There are two rubber bump stops on the upper part of the rear end that the
tailgate rest against...apply silicone or WD-40...worked for me. The bed
vibrates so much that the rubber wears on the tailgate causing a squeek.
You can also loosten the striker bolts and move them forward in vehicle so when the tailgate closes there is more interference to the rubber bump stops.
